The Pilates exercise system was developed over 80 years ago by Joseph Pilates.
The exercises are performed on specialized equipment or on a mat. Joseph Pilates created his method as a means to connect and develop the body, mind and spirit. Pilates works the muscles from the inside out. You will discover muscles you didn’t know you had! The exercises combine techniques that strengthen the “core” muscles while increasing flexibility throughout the body. Practitioners (and instructors) work towards creating a body that has increased vitality, limited stress and sculpted but balanced muscles.
